Memory Lane is a self-portrait that explores memory, identity and the relationships that shape us. The work began with a canvas discovered in a closet nearly 30 years ago and has evolved through multiple iterations, most recently being deconstructed and reimagined through new painting, collaging and three-dimensional elements. The work reflects Rucker’s belief that neither people nor paintings are ever truly finished; both can be revisited, reconstructed and transformed over time.
