MONSTERA BLUES was inspired by a photograph I took during a walk outside, Monstera Blues began as a study of color, light and observation. I was especially drawn to the leaf’s translucent glow and the way light filtered through its surface, creating unexpected blues and greens.
Developed while studying at Oolite Arts, this painting became an important technical exercise in capturing subtle shifts in color, value and atmosphere. It reflects an early stage in my artistic journey, where close observation of the natural world helped build the foundation for today's layered mixed media work.
