QUINCEAÑERA is my interpretation of Hispanic heritage through the traditions, memories and aspirations passed from one generation to the next. The piece centers a young woman at the threshold between childhood and adulthood, surrounded by layers of family, culture and possibility.
I combined paint, collage, fabric and dimensional materials to bring those layers together — weaving references to family, celebration, migration, legacy and dreams for the future into the composition. Traditional imagery lives alongside contemporary materials and bold color, reflecting a heritage that is both rooted in history and continually evolving.
